The School History

St.Joseph's Matriculation Higher Secondary School was founded in the year 1986. R.C Mission of Coimbatore Diocese runs it. The Government since July 1986 recognized the school. It was upgraded as Higher Secondary School in October 1999. We have completed Silver Jubilee ERA.

Founded Year 1986

A new star of education blazed across the horizon on 1st May 1986 when St.Joseph's English school was started by the R.C Diocese of Coimbatore with Rev.Fr.Mark Manthara as Correspondent and Rev.Sr.Alvarus Mary as the principal.

Medium of Instruction

The Historic first step of the journey, towards excellence was taken up with 150 students and 3 teachers, was inaugurated by the Most Rev.Dr.M.Ambrose D.D.D.C.L the Bishop of Coimbatore. Today, the school has 2217 students and around 82 staff members.

Historic of journey

Two years after its inception in 1988, the school was fortunate enough to have Rev.Sr.Elsy Joseph as the Principal followed by Rev.Fr.John Bosco who had strived hard to get a school van and an elegant stage.

We started to follow the Matriculation system a prestigious unit of Madras University and our first batch of X STD came out with flying colours in 1997.

Matriculation System

St.Joseph's epitomized team spirit, where every individual worked with the sense of dedication under the able guidance of Rev.Fr. Lazar Sundarraj whose selfless effort and perseverance elevated the school to a high status. We introduced the system of Merits, school band to make our school band to make our celebration more confident. The growing demands made us to construct an auditorium with the latest digital system. The intellects of St.Joseph's won the race against time with their competitors to develop into an establishment to higher secondary in 1999.

School Establishment

Rev.Fr. Henry Daniel was the key, who naturally made us to move progressively towards the very best. The atmosphere of ours turned more delightful by the presence of Rev.Fr. Thaddeu Paulraj who brought harmonious integration among us. Principal enriched the cognitive learning by introducing the unit test scheme for X & XII students.

Our Silver jubilee year is enlightened with the guidance of Rev.Fr.P.Arockia Thadayus a person with 'Y NOT' policy, who has given the young minds with all round formation in this society. He insists usage of English communication counsel, institute of language management and school counseling. Our school is insisting on the handwriting course for all our children from their budding stage, which accelerated as to achieve not only the centum results but also district ranks.
